Maybe it takes one sports icon to synopsize the reputation inplosion of another.
Interestingly, the comment didn’t originate in a sports context. It was made at a funeral in Dallas for week for real estate icon Henry S. Miller, Jr.
SuperBowl-winning Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach — a superachiever of an earlier era — built his highly successful post-football real estate career under the guidance of Miller. He awarded the highest compliment to his mentor in a eulogy:
“Integrity is when your public face mirrors your private face.”
That was Henry, Staubach noted. ”He was a great example for all of us.”
How utterly apropos. In any context.
